We have a new opportunity for a Project Leader specializing in water meter upgrades utilizing Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) or Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) to partner with our Southwest Regional Team to develop and implement AMI/AMR, water conservation and waste water plant improvement projects including performance contracting, end-use supply agreements, new technology applications, and design-build construction projects.
Lead visits to customer project sites to investigate existing metering systems, meter accuracy, distribution systems, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems and document meter accuracy, billing accuracy, energy and water performance, including utility data and facility information.
Identify opportunities for meter accuracy improvements, billing accuracy improvements, conservation or efficiency, prepare revenue improvement calculations, operation improvement savings, and perform engineering assessment including baseline profiles, end-use and retrofit analysis.
Provide technical engineering leadership, management, and guidance to other engineers assigned to the same project.
Lead engineering development activities in support of construction, operations, and maintenance of customer site projects as required by development contracts.
Analyze and prepare conceptual and detailed bid documents, cost estimates, drawings, and specifications for water technology and system measures.
Coordinate with vendors and installation contractors for feasibility and pricing verification of proposed project modifications.
Provide engineering guidance throughout development, construction, project commissioning, and operations, including proposals, technical reports, cost estimates, and presentations.
Compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes.
Ensure successful project implementation that meets or exceeds company objectives, financial parameters, and technical needs required to deliver customer energy cost savings.
Cultivate and maintain positive business relationships.
Perform other duties as required.
BSME or equivalent four year technical engineering degree with 7+ years’ AMI/AMR project development and implementation work experience.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and quantify revenue projections based on actual utility tariffs and implement complex projects involving AMI/AMR data collection systems, water meter replacements, and wastewater treatment plant improvement projects.
Knowledge of measurement and verification, project cost estimating and accounting desired.
Financial planning/ budget experience with ability to develop a business case helpful.
Professional registration or educational progress toward PE, CEM, LEED.
Excellent verbal, written, and computer communication and technical presentation skills.
Valid Drivers License in good standing, issued by resident state required.
U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
