    Ameresco currently has a new opportunity based at multiple project site locations in northern New Jersey for a Site Construction Manager to join our Distributed Energy Resource Team as a leader in the planning, scheduling and management of construction activities for our multimillion-dollar distributed energy production projects.


    Provide day-to-day management and oversight to construct Distributed Energy Resource Projects.

    Participate in daily job briefings with Subcontractors.

    Prepare construction work plans to ensure EHS protocol is maintained.

    Maintain SDS documentation per EHS requirements.

    Prepare lift plans, including critical lift and logistic plans for all rigging activities.

    Document and share lessons learned on quarterly basis.

    Provide accurate and timely project status updates and communication to Project Manager.

    Oversee the maintenance of up-to-date project construction schedules for all projects.

    • Develop risk and opportunity registers for all projects.
    • Identify, develop and implement project acceleration and schedule recovery strategies as needed.
    • Coordinate all activities, including critical path with Subcontractors to ensure schedule integrity
    • Prepare three (3) week look ahead to be reviewed every week with client and project manager

    Assist the project manager with the preparation of regular project budget updates and forecasts of future costs for all projects managed.

    Work collectively with project manager to ensure proper lines of communication are established, performance and production goals are met, and budgetary requirements are maintained.

    Organize and participate in weekly project meeting with client and project management staff.

    Organize and maintain project related files, drawings, materials, and correspondence.

    Provide site level coordination with equipment vendors, labor subcontractors and professional services subcontractors in support of on-time, on-budget performance within the specified work scope and quality.

    Support engineering and design development teams with project scoping, cost estimating and scheduling.

    Assist project manager in developing project specific construction contracting strategies, review of bid packages, subcontractor selection and contracting.

    Assist project manager with the preparation of regular construction progress reporting to internal company and external customer recipients.

    Assist project manager to manage project expenditures and job cost accounting processes: including accuracy, submittals, documentation, approvals, NCRs, payment reporting, and cost tracking.

    Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, federal, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes.

    Foster positive and effective business relationships at all levels and project phases.

    Perform other duties as required.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    College Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related.

    Minimum 3 years construction project management work experience focusing on complex facility infrastructure, industrial power, or distributed energy facility project delivery.

    Commensurate experience of 10 years or more in Construction Management will be considered in lieu of College Degree.


    Additional Requirements:

    Completion or progress toward engineering, technical, or industry-related education preferred.

    Demonstrated work experience with medium voltage switchgear, industrial PLC controls, electric and absorption chillers, reciprocating generator equipment, and combustion gas turbines is preferred.

    Proven experience with OSHA safety standards, mechanical and electrical systems development, engineering, and project management regulations, practices, and codes.

    Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and foster positive business relationships.

    Strong verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills.

    Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, MS Project, and cloud-based construction management software such as Procore or equivalent.

    Construction management certifications or state licensing. 

    Valid Drivers’ License in good standing, issued by resident state.

    May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
