    We are seeking a Project Design Electrical Engineer to join Ameresco’s Federal Solutions Team to support design development for Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage, and Microgrid projects for U.S. Federal Government clients. Design work involves DC power systems and low and medium Voltage AC power systems. Role will be physical located in Framingham, MA and reporting to Senior Electrical Engineering leadership in Knoxville, TN.

    Responsibilities

    Prepare engineering design drawings, specifications and bid document development in support of
    construction, operations, and maintenance of customer site programs and projects in accordance with
    energy savings performance contract requirements, with emphasis on PV, BESS, and Microgrids

    Participate in Project Team engineering and design audit visits and supporting activities.

    Coordinate with vendors and installation contractors for feasibility and pricing verification of proposed
    project modifications.

    Provide engineering guidance throughout construction, project commissioning, and operations

    Cultivate and maintain effective business relationships at all levels and project phases.

    Manage project expenditures and job cost accounting: including documentation, approvals, tracking,
    and reporting

    Ensure successful project implementation that meets or exceeds company objectives, financial
    parameters, and technical needs required to deliver customer energy cost savings

    Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and
    codes and successful project

    Perform other duties as required

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    BSEE four-year technical engineering degree.

    Minimum 3-8 years of relevant Electrical Engineering design experience

    Professional Engineer (PE) license, or Fundamentals of Engineer (FE) certification with plan to obtain PE

    Proven ability to manage and complete complex projects in a timely, cost-effective manner

     

     

    Additional Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience with design of medium voltage power systems desirable

    Prior experience with design of Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage, and/or microgrid control systems highly desirable

    Experience utilizing AutoCAD and Electrical Engineering analysis software (ETAP or similar)

    Excellent verbal, written, computer, and technical communication and presentations skills, including advanced MS Office, Word, Excel proficiency, MS Project, and Primavera.

    May be required to pass security clearance investigation.

    Valid Drivers’ License in good standing, issued by resident state required

    Travel required
