    Ameresco is currently seeking an Associate Plant Operations Engineer to work with Ameresco’s Distributed Energy Resources Team. This position is located in the Portland, ME office.


    Monitor operation of automated reporting systems, data collection systems, and site web portals. Provide reports to customers, as well as to all levels of Ameresco Engineering and Operations Teams.

    Further develop existing data and reporting systems, by building new reports, databases and data entry forms.

    Respond to and troubleshoot issues with reports and plant SCADA systems. Coordinate with Plant Operators and Compliance Specialists on any issues or requests.

    Work with the Compliance Team to ensure that data collection systems are in line with contractual and permit obligations.

    Respond to inquiries to retrieve and analyze plant operational data.

    Ensure virtual machines, servers, and networks operate accordingly. Maintain backups and spares for software and hardware.

    Maintain security of reporting systems, databases, web portals, virtual machines, servers and networks.

    Travel to plant and facility locations to install or troubleshoot servers, hardware, data collection systems, etc.

    Assist Engineering Team in future plant startups and commissioning.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor of Science in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering

    Valid Drivers’ License issued by state of residence and in good standing

    U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required

    Ability to pass security clearance investigation


    Additional Preferred Qualifications:

    Proven ability to gather, validate, and analyze quantitative data and information

    Proficient with programming, including experience using Visual Basic and HTML

    Proficient with database creation and management in SQL and Proficy Historian

    Experience with iFIX and XLReporter, and how they connect with the above database systems

    Understanding of power plant systems and ability to troubleshoot and understand data from those systems

    Familiarity with virtual machines and server management

    Familiarity with firewalls, network protocols, and network management

    Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects
