    Ameresco is seeking a Senior Project Development Manager to work with Ameresco’s Solar PV Grid-Tie Development Team. This position is located at our company headquarters in Framingham, MA.


    Drive solar PV project development for greenfield solar PV projects from initial land acquisition through permitting, PPA pricing, and notice-to-proceed into construction.

    Prepare pricing and bid responses, including virtual PPA offers, in response to utility-scale RFPs from utilities, municipalities, and commercial customers.

    Oversee proposal writing and delivery for specific solar PV opportunities, either responding to Request for Proposals, Request for Qualifications, or sales account executives’ originated projects.

    Lead development process for awarded solar PV projects from off-taker contract through construction start. Responsible for managing internal and external resources to execute development phase tasks including site due diligence and site design, utility interconnection, engineering, permitting, stakeholder outreach, real estate agreements, and structured tax agreements – all to achieve project profitability.

    Present and meet with municipal boards, executives, and authorities having jurisdiction to negotiate Power Purchase Agreements, tax agreements, site plan approvals, zoning variances, and other required permits.

    Foster effective and positive business relationships with all parties throughout project phases

    Solve problems affecting project profitability as they may arise through project Commercial Operation Date.

    Prepare financial Proformas for pricing Power Purchase Agreements.

    Analyze key project details such as utility data, facility profiles, site drawings, and system operating data

    Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes.

    Perform other duties as required


    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science discipline. 


    Additional Preferred Qualifications

    Masters Degree a plus

    Expertise in permitting complex development and/or construction projects in New England

    Up to date knowledge of Solar PV regulations and incentive programs in New England

    Functional knowledge of Power Purchase Agreements, Structured Tax Agreements, and Land Leases.

    Ability to lead business development team efforts within a cross-functional organization.

    Ability to negotiate complex agreements with multiple stakeholders

    Ability to prepare and analyze project financial proformas for profitable project development

    Proven ability to gather, validate, and analyze quantitative data and information

    Ability to read and understand complex energy regulations affecting market opportunities and sales growth.

    Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Excel.

    Excellent verbal, written, computer communication and presentation skills.

    Valid Drivers’ License issued by state of residence and in good standing.

    U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status may be required.

    Ability to pass security clearance investigation.
