    Ameresco is currently has new opportunity for a Project Development Engineer to partner with our impressive Energy Asset group developing and implementing energy savings and renewable technology projects.  This position is in Portland, ME.

     

    Responsibilities

    Assist and contribute to project teams developing, designing, constructing and managing Energy Asset projects to include cogeneration, central plants, solar PV, microgrids, and other infrastructure improvements. 

    Provide engineering guidance throughout development, construction, project commissioning, and operations, including proposals, technical reports, cost estimates, and presentations.

    Analyze and prepare conceptual and detailed engineering design and bid documents, cost estimates, drawings, and specifications for energy efficient building technology and system measures.

    Coordinate visits to customer project sites to investigate existing mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems and document energy performance information, including utility data and facility infrastructure drawings.

    Assist with engineering design and development activities in support of construction, operations, and maintenance of customer site projects as required by energy savings performance contracts.

    Coordinate with vendors and installation contractors for feasibility and pricing verification of proposed project modifications.

    Compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes.

    Ensure successful project implementation that meets or exceeds company objectives, financial parameters, and technical needs required to deliver customer energy cost savings.

    Foster and maintain effective and positive business relationships with all parties throughout the project phase.

    Lead the implementation of a construction management software system. Under the direction of a Project Manager, the PDE will set up the first projects and help the team integrate the new system with existing methods.

    Perform other duties as required

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    BSME or equivalent four year technical engineering degree.

    3 years of project development and implementation work experience.

     

    ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Master’s Degree preferred
    Electrical and power engineering background preferred
    Ability to analyze and quantify energy savings and implement projects involving chiller and boiler plants, motors, controls, and distributed generation.
    Familiarity with building simulation and related software.
    Financial planning/ budget experience with ability to develop a business case helpful.
    Professional registration or educational progress toward PE, CEM, LEED.
    Excellent verbal, written, and computer communication and technical presentation skills.
    Valid Drivers License in good standing, issued by resident state required.
    U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
    May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
    Travel may be required.
