    Ameresco is looking for a full-time Engineering Assistant Intern to gain hands-on experience in distributed energy development. This position is located in Framingham, MA.

    Responsibilities

    Assist Project Development Teams with engineering support for Distributed Energy development projects including but not limited to central thermal plants, cogeneration plants, trigeneration plants, fuel cell plants, solar photovoltaic systems, and battery energy storage plants, incorporating both fossil and renewable fuels;
    Participate and organize the development and production of technical proposals and reports including: project descriptions, cost and savings estimates, experience profiles, and other documentation.
    Assist with and develop standard sections for proposals with the objective of making proposal development more efficient and effective;
    Assist with and develop standard tools and processes with the objective of making project development, modeling, and cost estimation, more efficient and effective;
    With assistance from the team, develop and run spreadsheet models of plant configurations, equipment selections, operating scenarios, and other variables that model energy usage and cost;
    Assist with coordination of customer project site visits to investigate existing site conditions, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and metering systems.
    Gather and document project information including utility data, facility profiles, system operating characteristics, and site drawings;
    Perform detailed engineering assessment including baseline profiles, end-use and retrofit analysis;
    Interface with contractors on project costing and equipment suppliers to gather specifications and performance data;
    Provide assistance in the critical review of proposals and reports through technical narrative editing;
    Provide assistance in regards to market research on emerging markets, technologies, and policies;
    Cultivate and foster positive customer relationships; and
    Perform other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

    Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters Degree focusing on electrical, mechanical, engineering, or industrial power, energy services, and renewable technology. Specific interest in energy technologies and the environment is a plus.

     

    ADDITIONAL PREFERRED:

    Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

    MS Office proficiency with advanced AutoCAD, Excel, and Word experience preferred

    Excellent verbal, written, computer, and presentation communication and organizational skills.

    Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables within fast paced, team project-oriented work environment.

    The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
