    Applied Energy Group (AEG) is an Ameresco company that provides a wide range of energy efficiency related management services to assist clients in designing and implementing programs for their customers.

    AEG has an opening for an Analyst to join our consulting group. Energy Consulting provides advanced analytic and strategic consulting services to energy companies, utilities, governments, and non-profit organizations. Our talented, multidisciplinary staff provides comprehensive solutions to complex energy and sustainability problems.

    This position is located in Walnut Creek, CA 


    Perform wide range of analysis, including energy analyses, analysis of fuel and utility bills, estimate energy efficiency savings and costs, provide financial analysis, and measure engineering analysis.
    Perform benefit-cost analysis on prospective energy efficiency measures and programs.
    Work with management to design and perform energy efficiency and demand response process evaluations.
    Select and apply appropriate statistical methods in energy efficiency and demand response program impact evaluations.
    Justify and document technical decisions related to research planning and data analysis.
    Report and present results and findings, as well as actionable recommendations to utility clients and regulators.

    Build and maintain relationships with client decision makers and staff to maximize productivity and cultivate future opportunities.

    Manage tasks or projects, monitor progress against milestones and budgets.




    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline. 




    Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel and at least one statistical software package (e.g., SAS, R, Stata, SPSS, or MATLAB).

    Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects and work closely with other project team members.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to explain technical information to a lay audience.

    Desire to develop existing and new skill sets in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with colleagues who take pride in their company and enjoy their work

    Graduate coursework in areas related to energy-efficiency and sustainability.

    Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Public Policy, Statistics or related disciplines.

    1+ years of work experience in a consulting environment.

    1+ years of work experience in an energy-related field (strongly preferred).

    Familiarity with monitoring, verification, and evaluations in energy or related environmental field.

    Familiarity with program planning and design or program implementation in energy or related environmental field.

    Task or project management experience
