Ameresco currently has a new opportunity based in Framingham MA for a full-time Desktop Administrator.

Responsibilities

Support companywide IT needs. Serve interface for desktop support;

Solve a variety of issues including networking, authentication, phones, printers, video systems, and software installations on a daily basis;

Identify repetitive tasks and propose automated solutions offering process and performance improvements to your peers and management;

Repair and upgrade hardware and software as necessary;

Optimize software management and deployment;

Keep up-to-date electronic inventory of all IT assets;

Daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups;

Recommend and perform upgrades on systems to ensure longevity;

Upgrading machines to new operating systems;

Patching security vulnerabilities;

Configuring backups as appropriate and testing backup recovery;

Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures;

Create, change, and delete user accounts per request for all software;

Investigate and troubleshoot issues;

Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies;

Assist staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines;

Other duties as required.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.

1 to 3 years’ experience in IT Helpdesk or Desktop Administration experience.

 

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to use remote tools to support users. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfort working with resources across disciplines at all professional levels.

High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Network and hardware troubleshooting.
