New opportunity based in Phoenix, AZ (or one of our Regional offices) for a proven developer to drive the expansion of Ameresco Renewable Energy solutions to commercial, industrial and “MUSH” markets. Role may have flexibility for working remotely or at one of our Central Region offices.

Responsibilities

Strategically identify, pre-qualify, and acquire prospects for the sale of commercial Solar PV Grid-Tie projects (May include: power purchase agreements, energy saving performance contracts, turnkey construction projects, and alternative financed solutions);

Negotiate and structure Solar PV and Solar Integrated contract deals;

Support cross-regional sales teams with qualification, presentation, and proposals for Solar Integrated projects;

Coordinate with Project Development Engineers, Ameresco Legal, & Ameresco Finance to develop and facilitate renewable project deal structuring (project deal strategy, economics & contract forms);

Produce preliminary & final economic feasibility reports with an emphasis on project risk/ feasibility to pre-qualify deals;

Develop customer feasibility/avoided cost reports as required, research and submit local incentive and utility rebate applications, as well as assist in the development & coordination of technical RFP/RFQ proposals;

Work with the Proposal Coordinator, Business Developer, and Development Engineer(s) to assemble Ameresco RFP/RFQ proposals including, pre-bid job walk coordination, technical writing, project scope & pricing, and coordination of all other necessary input for a comprehensive proposal;

Target and contact key decision makers to present new project opportunities, propose specific sales contracts, obtain fully executed contracts for new projects, and achieve business development goals;

Learn, utilize, and strengthen the sales system platform and maintain weekly sales status CRM updates;

Review project submittals for quality assurance, technical accuracy, and customer-oriented solutions;

Exhibit comprehensive knowledge and understanding of project proposals and contract terms;

Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of all Ameresco product and service offerings as well as market, renewable, and energy services developments;

Seek internal technical guidance and coordinate the implementation and operations support interface to assure customer satisfaction;

Strengthen knowledge of solar and photovoltaic systems industry, structure, trends, issues to ensure full understanding of customer business objectives and requirements;

Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes;

Cultivate positive and effective business relationships.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in sustainability, economics, finance, or business.

Minimum 5 years progressive experience marketing commodity consulting services, energy efficiency, or renewable technology, including the ability to identify customer energy needs, effectively communicate energy solutions, and position Ameresco as provider of choice.

 

 

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Advanced Education (i.e., MS, MBA) preferred.

Proven successful business development experience cultivating, developing, and securing customers.

Demonstrated sales track record, including executive business decision-maker contacts, C-level sales, advanced negotiation, deal structuring, and sales contract experience.

Proven ability to analyze and pre-qualify customer value.

Superior financial planning, budgeting, organizational and resource management abilities.

Excellent verbal, written, technical, and computer communication and presentation skills required.

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and business relationships.

Valid Drivers’ License in good standing, issued by state of residence.

May be required to pass security clearance investigation.

Travel required.
