We are seeking a high-energy, self-motivated individual to fulfill the role of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager on our Corporate Accounting team. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this individual contributor will be responsible for annual reports on Form 10-K and quarterly reports on Form 10-Q, including playing a role in the coordination with legal and others in the organization who assist in the preparation or review of the filings. In addition to these duties, this individual will also be responsible for accounting for non-routine and complex transactions. This position requires comfort with authoritative and interpretative accounting guidance and documenting conclusions reached upon successful research of issues or new accounting standards.
Prepare and review of annual Form 10-K and quarterly Form 10-Q for filing with the SEC, including XBRL tagging;
Ensures accurate presentation of financial statements and disclosures in accordance with US GAAP and SEC rules, as well as consistent presentation with other public releases of financial data;
Assists investor relations with the preparation of the quarterly earnings release and contribute to the review of the earnings call script;
Responsible for the preparation of compliance reporting, including standalone financial statements for multiple entities;
Calculates and forecasts basic and diluted weighted average shares outstanding for EPS calculations;
Prepares the quarterly consolidated cash flow statement;
Prepares annual and other asset impairment test analyses;
Continuously monitor, document and communicate the development of new accounting standards, interpretations, and emerging guidance to the finance organization, including current and future impact on the company (e.g new lease standard);
Evaluates accounting issues related to non-routine and complex transactions, including purchase accounting, conducting research to identify applicable accounting guidance and preparing position papers documenting issues, facts and conclusions;
Assists with the review and documentation of certain revenue transactions;
Partners with others in the organization, outside of finance, primarily legal, investor relations and treasury;
Actively participates in the monthly close process, including review of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations;
Provide support to internal audit as part of the SOX compliance program.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master’s degree in Accounting preferred
CPA required; 5+ years of experience; with at least 3 years of public accounting firm experience, preferably in a Big 4 environment.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in a public company environment required
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules
Must be proactive, detail-oriented, process-oriented, a self-starter, able to take responsibility and maintain high quality and accuracy in reporting with specific deadlines
Ability to clearly and concisely document technical accounting matters and communicate financial impact to stakeholders
Ability to maintain and manage relationships across all levels of the organization
Flexible and possess the ability to adapt to the company’s frequently changing needs and priorities while continuing to meet deadlines
Strong organizational skills with proven ability to follow through on multiple tasks and priorities
Experience leading team projects ensuring deadlines are met and positive outcomes are achieved;
Must be open to and able to adapt to process changes as continuous improvement in reporting efficiencies is a key focus of the accounting team.
