This internship position is available for a current student, preferably but not limited to mechanical or electrical engineering disciplines with an interest in energy efficiency and renewable technology.  Position offers flexible part-time hours, exposure to business and engineering practices, and offers an opportunity build familiarity and experience with various aspects of facility systems, general business development processes & engineering practice.

Responsibilities

Organize, enter, and analyze key project information including utility data, equipment operating logs, facility profiles, system operating characteristics and site drawings.
Assist with technical analysis for energy conservation and infrastructure upgrade projects
Assist in developing bid documents, cost estimates, drawings, and specifications for energy efficient building technology and system measures.
Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be local and willing to work for a full semester.   Hours are flexible during normal business hours. 

 

Additional Perferred Qualifications: 

Junior or Senior undergraduate or post-graduate student, preferably pursuing BSEE, BSME, MSEE or MSME technical engineering degree from an ABET accredited institution.  Other degrees and disciplines may be considered.

Engaged in coursework and/or experience related to facilities systems (e.g. lighting, electrical systems, HVAC).
Excellent verbal, written, computer, technical data, spreadsheet, and presentation communication and organizational skills.
MS Office proficiency required with advanced Excel and Word experience preferred.
Proven ability to manage and complete multiple tasks in a timely, cost-effective manner.
Strong verbal, written, computer communication and technical presentation skills.
Valid Drivers’ License issued by state of residence and in good standing
Will be required to pass security clearance investigation.
Travel required.
