New opportunity based in Honolulu for a Project Developer/Construction Manager with energy efficiency and renewable technology experience to partner with the Ameresco Regional Team developing and implementing Hawaii project opportunities.
Coordinate visits to customer project sites to investigate existing mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems and document energy performance information, including utility data and facility infrastructure drawings.
Identify opportunities for conservation or efficiency and assist with preparation of energy savings calculations and technical engineering assessment.
Assist Engineers with design and development activities in support of construction, operations, and maintenance of customer site projects as required by energy savings performance contracts.
Perform drawing/engineering reviews for constructability and contractor scopes
Collaborate with Project Engineers to prepare conceptual and detailed design and bid documents, cost estimates, drawings, and specifications for energy efficient building technology and system measures.
Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to assure competitive cost, best schedule and delivery for all project-related equipment, supply installations, and construction services.
Provide technical guidance throughout development, construction, project commissioning, and operations, including proposals, reports, cost estimates, and presentations.
Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes.
Assure successful project implementation that meets or exceeds company objectives, financial parameters, and technical needs required to deliver customer energy cost savings.
Cultivate and maintain positive business relationships. Identify, interview and qualify project vendors and subcontractors;
Prepare bid documents and schedule and manage pre-bid meetings;
Receive bids and select vendors and subcontractors to assure competitive pricing, best schedule and delivery for all equipment and construction;
Provide scopes and documentation for the issuance of subcontracts and purchase orders; Work with Construction Project Managers in developing schedules and doing updates;
Assist in the development of site specific safety and health plans and hazard analysis;
Job site audits – QC & Safety
Provide project reports, documentation, technical assistance, support, and collaboration;
Prepare and maintain budgets;
Work with Construction Project Managers in managing vendor and subcontractor costs and schedule;
Review and approve project construction cost and budget activity and provide monthly forecasts;
Review vendor and subcontractor invoices and change orders;
Manage project expenditures and job cost accounting processes;
Provide ongoing project status updates with all parties throughout design and construction;
Provide daily administrative and technical management of construction projects. Management of full project accounting, project schedule and tracking, reporting, quality management and internal communication;
Directly manage construction managers (site superintendents) to ensure quality control and project delivery on time and within budget, while meeting or exceeding customer expectations;
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum 7 years progressive energy efficiency and/or renewable technology project development and implementation work experience.
Relevant college degree preferred but not required.
Hawaii contracting license.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and quantify energy savings and implement complex projects involving chiller and boiler plants, motors, VSDs, HVAC retrofit, controls, and distributed generation.
Knowledge of measurement and verification, project cost estimating and accounting desired.
Experience with building simulation and related software and industrial facility retrofits is a plus.
Financial planning/ budget experience with ability to develop a business case helpful.
Excellent verbal, written, and computer communication and technical presentation skills.
Valid Drivers License issued by state of residence and in good standing.
May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
