Ameresco’s Building Dynamics Group, which develops intelligent software and sensing solutions for buildings, is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic intern for its offices in Framingham. This position interfaces directly with the internal software development team that helps bring new offerings to the market.

Responsibilities

Primary role will be in the day-to-day operational aspects of data collection from multiple online sources including utility billing data, electricity meters, weather information and sensor data. This entails a variety of tasks, as well as opportunities for developing automated means of acquiring this data.
Work with the development team and analytics team to refine report generation
Develop scripts for data analysis and data importing
Participate in the development of documentation and training materials.
Work closely with the rest of the team to deliver high-quality service to Ameresco’s customers
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Junior level or graduate student status in computer science, computer engineering or other related discipline.

 

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding and appreciation of software systems in Linux and windows-based systems
Knowledge of and reasonable proficiency with Microsoft Office apps, in particular Excel (macro programming experience helpful but not necessary)
Programming exposure and demonstrated track record in programming in Python
Knowledge of what drives the modern web, such as HTML5, CSS and Javascript.
Knowledge of the difference between front-end and back-end frameworks is also a plus. Willingness to learn and use new technologies as needed
Strong communication and writing skills
