Installs, maintains, tests and repairs: HVAC systems, fan coil units, boilers, air handling units, related piping systems, control valves and controls and all other related equipment, in accordance with the Washington DC area.
Troubleshoots, recharges, cleans, repairs, and checks all Air conditions systems with the Ameresco Portfolio. Make necessary adjustments and calibration of related control devices. May estimate time and materials needed on particular jobs, as required. Prepares and updates prints as necessary. Frequently work from ladders, platforms, high places, and camped spaces. Work on other duties as directed.
Must have DC HVAC license
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Trade school or Vocational High School Degree, Washington DC Journeyman’s HVAC License, plus 5 years applicable experience required.
Types II and III CFC Certification required, Universal Certification desired.
Must have excellent knowledge of operating and servicing entire building and support systems including HVAC, Steam, HHW, DDC, refrigeration, pneumatic, and building safety equipment.
Must observe and comply with all standard safety codes and practice, and perform work in accordance with recognized trade and Ameresco standards.
Also must be capable of reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and operational manuals associated with his/her work.
Must be quality-focused and customer service oriented.
Perform other duties as required.
Technology Skills Required:
Operation of state-of-the-art, computer-based control systems.
Boiler service and operations
Required to wear a clean neat uniform, and maintain a professional image at all times. Also required to wear safety equipment and clothing when appropriate and/or required. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Considerable climbing walking and stooping. Will routinely be required to bend, reach and hold awkward positions for prolonged periods. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and lift and transport equipment in excess of 200 lbs., with others. Must be physically able to work alone, climb consecutive sets of stairs, and work off ladders, staging, lifts, etc. Work in confined spaces, stoops, and bends for long periods of time, and works on hands and knees and other uncomfortable positions for extended periods. Routinely walks to and from various buildings carrying tools, equipment, and other essentials to the job site.
