Leads technical system proposals utilizing the best system level approach to provide a solution to the customer. Support the Sales teams for pre project phase. Contribute to the technical proposals.  Supports Battery Storage industry events and customer visits.

Leads System Design for new Battery Storage Systems. Drives the design process and develops the detailed costing matrix for the Battery Storage Systems and all ancillary components.

Manage technical interface with internal pre-project team.

Review the technical and budgetary content of offer prepared by the pre-project team.

Technical support of sales force on energy storage projects, including integration of Li-ion solutions with the power electronics/renewable energy package.

Evaluate if the project is technically and economically viable and prepare technical and cost information for the opportunity review gate.

Develops integration strategies with key partners and customers. Participates in the development of integration, software and hardware, driving fundamental changes as required, to make Ameresco’s Distributed Energy Systems technically superior and profitable.

Challenge and optimize technical solutions.

Leverages Battery Storage Market and Industry Experience to market customers and determine that Ameresco's solutions are the best for them; and Ameresco’s systems offerings to meet the industry needs.

Supports the commissioning of the delivered systems and training of the customer to optimize the customers' experience and utilization of Ameresco’s battery storage solutions. 

Provides field support during the initial startup and early deployment phases of our systems.  Uses the knowledge and "lessons learned" from this support to drive improvements into the new design and system development activities.

Leverages knowledge gained through field support to validate and verify system performance.  Develop case studies, keep data and records from commissioning and field support experience to improve our systems offerings.

Contribute to a continuous improvement promotion within the Distributed Energy Services Business unit.

Respect and promote safety and safety rules within the Distributed Energy Services Business Unit.

Develop application knowledge and adapt to changing market requirements.

Formalize and transmit technical knowledge to sales force and customers.

Provide expertise to marketing and production development.

Ensure the technical success of projects by following-up with the Program Manager with progress reviews.

Develop application technical knowledge.

Perform other duties as required.


Minimum Qualifications


BSEE or equivalent degree with software understanding, Technical graduate degree a plus.


Additional Preferred Qualifications


Demonstrated understanding of current engineering principles associated with analysis of power systems, electrical interconnection, battery energy storage systems, microgrid controls, data monitoring/reporting systems.  Ability to evaluate electrical drawings and specifications is a plus.

Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel required.

Detail oriented, with the ability to work in both collaborative and independent situations while effectively managing multiple projects with changing deadlines in a dynamic work environment.

Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
Travel required.
